About the publication

This study first provides an in-depth geographic and demographic analysis of the 1992 Philippine presidential election. It is followed by a survey of the development of Philippine party politics before and since the end of the Marcos dictatorship and how the 1992 election fits into the long-term evolution of the party system. Several scenarios for a future party system are discussed, and include the probable effects of proposed changes in the form of government.
