This volume forms part of a study to examine the process of transition from socialist, centrally-planned economies to market-driven ones in Asia, particularly through an integrated process of research, dialogue with policy-makers, training, and the building of public support. Part I consists of thematic studies while Part II consists of country case studies for Vietman, Laos, Myanmar and Mongolia.
