Ulrich Mai
Ulrich Mai is a member of the Sociology of Development Research Center at the Faculty of Sociology, University of Bielefeld, West Germany. A social geographer, he obtained his Ph.D. from Marburg. He has published various books and articles on urbanization, and more recently he is engaged in research on petty trade as well as social and cultural change in rural Indonesia.
