His previous appointments include Head of the Developing Economies Research Section for the National Research Institute of Agricultural Economics at the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Japan, and Agricultural Economist at the UN/ESCAP CGPRT Centre in Indonesia.
