Robert O. Whyte

Robert Orr Whyte obtained his Ph.D from Cambridge University in Botany. He was Director of the Commonwealth Bureau of Pastures and Field Crops at Aberystwyth, United KIngdom, in 1931-49. He later became Chief of the Crop Production and Improvement Branch of the Food and Agriculture Organization (of United Nations), Rome, and also FAO Adviser to the Governments of India and Japan. Dr. Whyte is currently a Research Associate at the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies.
